Comedy Courage

As someone in generally good health, both physically and mentally, it’s hard to put myself in the place of someone who suffers from mental illness, and even harder to imagine that there may in fact be a lighter side to it…even something to laugh about.

Last year, Vancouver 24 Hours  deemed Comedy Courage the best “Right Stuff” Soiree in 2009, and for the second year in a row, I will be emceeing the Comedy Courage  (now in it’s 7th year) at the Westin Bayshore Hotel on May 27, 2010.

I will be co-emceeing with the super funny Patrick Maliha (who by the way can do an amazing amount of impersonations!) and it really is a great way to take the stigma out of mental illness through laughter, with a showcase of talent, Gala Dinner and Silent Auction!

As Eric Bana (playing Romulan villain Nero) quips in the new Star Trek movie “The wait is over”- I get to see the new one tonight at Scotiabank theatre!  I can’t wait for this movie.  It is currently getting rave reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.  The movie will be out in theatres to the general public this Friday.  It will be cool to see what kinds of new fans will get on board the Star Trek franchise…not like they need new fans!

Also, tune in to CFUN 1410 AM today between 2-6 for Man Radio with Patrick Maliha & I.

I had to be wheeled out of the All India Sweets & Restaurant on Main last night.  Nicola (better half), myself and two of her friends partook in the vegetarian Indian buffet for a mere $10.95!  So delicious, check this place out if you haven’t already.

Not much else to tell ya other than that.  I found out I’m doing three more fill-in shifts on Talk 1410 next week on the Afternoon Buzz with Patrick Maliha.  So stoked!

Ciao for now
