Back on a sunny morning in September, about one-thousand students and faculty members got together to create a lipdub. It’s basically a type of video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make a music video. The idea came a few months back when the U of VIC in Spain put together this lipdub to Train’s ‘Hey Soul Sister.’ It was really well done. But I think our friends in Victoria have really outdone themselves.

Check out the video here. It’s already becoming a huge hit on youtube. They did an incredible job of putting it together and showcasing what UVIC has to offer!

This morning we had Tony Gioventu on the show, Executive Director of the Condominium Homeowners Association of BC, to talk about some of the things you need to consider if you are looking to rent out your place for the Olympics-

1) security. safety – especially if you will also be staying in your home and just renting out a room

2) be sure you can legally rent out your suite – mind you , when speaking with Tony – it appeared the maximum fine for breaking a strata bylaw was $500…so when you weigh the possible thousands you could bring in – seems like that is no biggie

3) utilize a reputable agent to find you clients/ renters…they will do alot of the credit checks, taking of deposits – and yes – they will get a commission – but it may be worth it for peace of mind – just be sure you check out your agents credentials first!

4) of course, get the proper insurance – you don’t want to take on any liabibility without the proper protection!
