Imagine swimming for 10 hours straight. Battling 25- knot winds, five foot swells and sea sickness. It’s how Jim Gould, Matt Smith, Jim Cambon spent their Saturday. The trio saying Saturday night, It was the hardest and most challenging thing they had ever done.

Whether you support it or disagree with it you should at the very least make an informed decision when it comes to the current anti-hst petition making it’s way around the province.
It will raise the costs of certain items, and reduce the cost of others. Here are a couple of links to arm yourself with the facts.

Renting your place for 2010?

posted on February 12th, 2009 - Filed in In the News - No comments »

This morning we had Tony Gioventu on the show, Executive Director of the Condominium Homeowners Association of BC, to talk about some of the things you need to consider if you are looking to rent out your place for the Olympics-

1) security. safety – especially if you will also be staying in your home and just renting out a room

2) be sure you can legally rent out your suite – mind you , when speaking with Tony – it appeared the maximum fine for breaking a strata bylaw was $500…so when you weigh the possible thousands you could bring in – seems like that is no biggie

3) utilize a reputable agent to find you clients/ renters…they will do alot of the credit checks, taking of deposits – and yes – they will get a commission – but it may be worth it for peace of mind – just be sure you check out your agents credentials first!

4)  of course, get the proper insurance – you don’t want to take on any liabibility without the proper protection!
