Miss a FEW Days, Miss a LOT!

Perhaps I should start calling my blog ‘Web Guy’s Picks of the Month’ with the rate I’m posting at.

The good thing is I’ve got GOLD for you. The bad thing is, there was so much to choose from that I encourage you to leave my blog right now, go to BT Bites and scroll through the videos, because I missed a lot of great stuff.

Let’s get started:

Who doesn’t remember, or love, the Hulkster, Hulk Hogan. Riaz caught up with him and had a few words.

Let’s talk sex. If you’re having it, are you happy with it? Well here are 5 tips to make it even better.

Speaking of sex. Kyle Donaldson was the lucky guy who got to host this SPCA segment with two amorous male dogs. VERY FUNNY!

Last week was PRIDE. Gay or not. It’s was time to celebrate our differences and our similarities. We had a guest panel on the show that was not only very informative, but funny as heck.

I’ve never seen it, but I hear the show Walking With Dinosaurs is amazing. We had a baby T-Rex on BT. And if the show is anything like this, I’ll pay a lot of money to see it.

Last, but not least is a little tune dedicated to all the dad’s, sung by Great Big Sea’s Sean McCann. Unfortunately I missed his performance at the Railway Club, but I was really impressed with this one.

Hope you enjoyed these. Have a great rest of your week.

Celebrities, Sesame Street & Lions

posted on July 16th, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 1 comment »

A busy week for this Web Guy. I’m a little tardy with the Video Picks from last week. But there were some really good ones and I don’t want you to miss them.

Remember Eric McCormack from Will and Grace? He stopped by to talk about a new play he’s in and shared a few witty quips as well. In our Behind the Scenes segment, Eric even filled us in on how to have a lasting celebrity marriage.

Mini Vans. Cool or Not? Well, Mark Docherty drives one and he’s starting to think it’s a pretty cool ride. Here’s what he had to say.

I don’t know any Canadian who wasn’t brought up on, or isn’t familiar with Sesame Street. Dawn Chubai went to Sesame Street in Abbotsford to hang out with some of our favourite pals from the show; and enjoyed a delicious breakfast with some very excited kids.

Go Lions Go! Greg Harper was lucky enough to hang out with some of the BC Lions football team at their practice field in Surrey. Paul McCallum and Casey Printers had a little fun with Greg. And let’s not forget the Felion cheerleaders. Roar You Lions Roar!

Let’s see if I can get the Video Pick of the Week out on time next week. Thanks for your patience and for checking out www.breakfastelevision.ca.

Kittens, Bloopers and Balls.

posted on July 5th, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 1 comment »

What a fun week it was. Dawn Chubai was on location for most of the World Cup soccer games (see Dawn’s Blog for Details ). Greg Harper was at the Libre Room to see the Netherland’s surprise win over Brazil. Since soccer was the theme, that’s how I’ll start this weeks blog. Not the World Cup, something on a smaller scale; but perhaps with greater impact.
An organization that believes a simple soccer ball might save a young person’s life.

Who doesn’t like bloopers? I cut together this beauty, compliments of our favourite trafficaster, Michel McDermott

The big movie release of last week, at least for the fans, was Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Here’s what Thor Diakow thought of it.

We celebrated Canada Day with a little Trivia. Let’s see if you can outsmart the BT Hosts.

If you’re a regular viewer you’ll know that every Monday we bring in a few cute, adoptable animals from the SPCA. We’re happy to say most of them have been adopted. But, there was one kitten this past week that just wanted to escape.

Thanks for reading and watching. Talk at you next week. Enjoy the sunshine ;)

BT ON LOCATION

posted on June 22nd, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 1 comment »

June 14-18 on BT was one of my favourite weeks. I love it when we go out on location and meet amazing people.

Which brings us to the first video:

1) A bus ride, a whole school of kids and a movie. That’s right. Dawn Chubai, Riaz Meghji and a wack of BT staff jumped on a bus, headed over to Florence Nightingale Elementary to pick up some very happy students. Then whisked them off to the Metrotown Cinemas for Toy Story 3. A lot of laughs, cute kids and happy people. What more could you ask for?

2) June 17, 2010 was National Recess Day.
The BT Hosts relived some of their childhood recess moments, games and traumas. Guess who was being a schoolyard bully?

3) On Friday we were live at False Creek, learning about Dragon Boating, blowing things up, and going head to head in a race for the ages. Well, maybe that’s over doing it a bit. But Greg Harper and his boat crew did challenge Kyle Donaldson and Dawn Chubai to a race for Dragonboat supremacy.
Associate Producer Genevieve Skelton shot flipcam video of some of the fun, Behind-the-Scenes, moments.

Until next week folks. Scroll through the videos BT Bites on BreakfastTelevision.ca for more great behind-the-scenes, celebrity interviews, News Updates and BT Bloopers.

UFC, PAPA and WAKA WAKA

posted on June 15th, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 1 comment »

Better late than never. Here are my video picks for the week of June 6-11, 2010.

A Bachelorette flunky dishes the dirt and admits to tears in this Behind-the-Scenes gem.

There’s nothing better than Tech Gifts for dad on Father’s Day. (Well according to the Web Guy at least)

Former, two time, UFC Champion and star of the new movie ‘The Expendables’ stopped by BT, spoke about the movie and even gave a lesson on why the UFC should be allowed in Canada. He was the nicest guy you never want to mess with.

AND, What’s the WAKA WAKA DANCE? I’ll let the BT hosts show you.

Mason, Look Back & B.O.

I hope you enjoyed last weeks Best of BT ‘Web Guy’ Picks.

We started out slow this week and finished strong. BT is always fun, but if you can get a band like Wide Mouth Mason to rock the house. Then a good show turns GREAT!

Here are my picks for the week of May 31 – June 4

One of the Editor’s found some footage of Thor and Riaz in the same news story from 2005. They didn’t even know each other back then. Was it meant to be?

I love Behind-the-Scenes footage from movies and television. We are trying to do that more here on BT. Here’s Mark Docherty having a little fun with Michel McDermott

And finally. As promised. Wide Mouth Mason Rocked the BT studios on Friday, June 4.
They were even fun behind the scenes.

Thanks for watching BT and breakfastelevision.ca. Give me your opinions and comments. And I promise to be pro-active. Unless the comments are mean. That’s just not nice ;)

Music,Texting & Soup Nazi’s, Oh My!

posted on May 25th, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 2 comments »

Well here it is. My inaugeral blog.

If all goes well, the plan is to post the best Breakfast Television videos of the week.

Keep in mind, these are the best in my opinion only.

So feel free to click on BT Bites and let me know if you can find better ones. Or just let us know what you like or don’t like about them.
I like feedback. It makes my job easier and it makes your viewing experience better.

Here we go………….

1) You gotta love the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. Not only did he play along with the BT staff, but he stayed around to tell some great behind-the-scenes stories about Seinfeld.  I’ve posted one here. Go to BT Bites and scroll through to see the rest.

2) This might be the coolest add-on from a wireless company yet. Extreme Texting. It allows you to send text message with features that you’d find in an email. You can even block texters. Now that’s something would could all use once or twice :)

3) What more important issue to BC’ers than the HST right now. FightHST proponent Bill Vander Zalm came by BT and told us why we should all sign the petition to abolish it.

5) These great music artists came on last week, but you don’t want to miss their great performances. Who doesn’t love Suzie McNeil and Chilliwack’s Bill Henderson singing a classic.

Hope you enjoy.

Thanks for reading and watching,
