I’m fundraising in support of the BC Cancer Foundation. Join me in supporting a wonderful cause. Please donate to support breakthrough research and compassionate care through the BC Cancer Foundation.

BC Cancer Foundation is provides screening, prevention and early detection programs, diagnosis and treatment services, supportive care, rehabilitation, palliative care, research and education thoughout British Columbia.

The goal – a vision…a world free from cancer. Providing cancer care and research for all of B.C.

At Exhale Studio ( http://www.exhalestudio.com ), I am aiming to do 30 Classes in 35 Days “Exhale Challenge” to a better self! To feel better physically, mentally and emotionally by joining the “Exhale Challenge”, a commitment to myself to attend 30 yoga, pilates & dance classes in 35 days. This is a great way to strengthen the body, unburden the mind, and begin a daily commitment to myself.

I decided to add extra motivation, intention and purpose to the “Exhale Challenge” as an opportunity to raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation.

I would love your support to help me accomplish my goal of completing the challenge, and helping raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation.

If you wish to make a secure online donation to BC Cancer Foundation, please click here

Whatever you can give will be appreciated, and everything helps. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

Please know that you are making a difference in the lives of people touched by cancer.

If you wish to join the free with membership “exhale challenge” to a better self and help raise money at the same time for cancer research, simply check out http://www.exhalestudio.com or email info@exhalestudio.com for more information.

Better late than never. Here are my video picks for the week of June 6-11, 2010.

A Bachelorette flunky dishes the dirt and admits to tears in this Behind-the-Scenes gem.

There’s nothing better than Tech Gifts for dad on Father’s Day. (Well according to the Web Guy at least)

Former, two time, UFC Champion and star of the new movie ‘The Expendables’ stopped by BT, spoke about the movie and even gave a lesson on why the UFC should be allowed in Canada. He was the nicest guy you never want to mess with.

AND, What’s the WAKA WAKA DANCE? I’ll let the BT hosts show you.

What’s the Buzz About?

posted on June 14th, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 1 comment »

Measurably louder than a lawnmower, chainsaw, air horn and drum, much of the hype around the World Cup has been about those dreaded Vuvuzelas and their 127 decibel output. These horns, which simulate the sound of bees frantically swarming around their sweet nectar, have proven to be a huge nuisance for players on the pitch and broadcasters calling the game.

Should they be banned? Well that’s easier said than done says FIFA. As a viewer watching on television, I don’t mind them. It showcases the enthusiasm fans have for the sport and more specifically their team, but then again I’m not in a 90,000 person stadium with an inability to block out the blare of those booming souvenirs.

What do you think of this vuvuzela controversy? Is it a symbol of soccer support or an unnecessary nuisance?

Yo Peeps,

Here are my movie reviews for this week- ‘The Karate Kid’ & ‘The A-Team’ (it’s 80’s themed!).  Things got a little heated when Riaz and I disagreed on ‘The A-Team’.

Enjoy!

Summer=Roadwork!

posted on June 11th, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 1 comment »

Yes its true.  Summer hasn’t even officially arrived yet, but the roadwork on our major routes sure has.

Here are a couple of areas that you need to be aware of…

Hastings Street in Vancouver between Cassiar and Boundary Road, expect slow downs throughout the summer into September.

Capilano Road in North Vancouver south bound at Fullerton south of Garden. Traffic is down to single lanes for construction. Use Garden to get you down to Marine Drive as an alternative.

Construction will continue of course along Highway One from Langley right through to Vancouver for ongoing upgrades and construction for the new Port Mann Bridge.

This is just a small taste  of what we can expect over the next few months. Keep checking in here for more construction updates throughout the summer and into the fall.  Plan ahead!!

Have a great weekend!

New Look for MLS

posted on June 8th, 2010 - Filed in CitySpotlight, In the News - 2 comments »

I was live at the new convention centre in downtown Vancouver this morning covering the debut of the new look for the Vancouver Whitecaps. The team unveiled its new logo for when it joins MLS in 2011. And it’s a pretty conservative look. It incorporates the mountains and the water of Vancouver. But loses the iconic soccer ball.

What do you think of the new look for the Whitecaps?

Hey Folks,

Hope the weekend treated you all well.  I wanted to pass along some cool links I came across today.

Check out the teaser trailer (unveiled at the MTV Movie Awards) for Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 1.  It doesn’t come out until November but the minute-long first glimpse is already creating quite a stir online.  I love how dark the movies are getting (the mood not the lighting!)

And…for all you Star Wars nerds out there (don’t worry, I’m one of them) check out the latest Adidas commercial spoofing the cantina scene from the original Star Wars!  My favourite part is Daft Punk in the robo-helmets not saying a word- love those guys!

Enjoy…
